Thanks Tom. I did consider that, but there has been no change in any of my max levels for any timeframe. All of them were set in early Sept. They will be dropping off in a couple of weeks.

Check out this guy that I rode the TOW with today. He has a 4.98 w/kg max for 20 minute and is in cat B. Lol

The new categorization can’t come fast enough.

Most likely your best 5 minute effort dropped out of the 90 day window. The way zFTP is calculated a lower 5 minute power can push the final number higher because it assumes you don’t fatigue as much.

Nothing has changed re: pace categories (A B C D) in ZwiftPower, that I know of. That would be a BIG deal if it changed, since it would shake up ZRL. So it’s odd that your category would change. Maybe reach out to ZRL for advice?

As forvthe current categorizatiom, are there changes that are happening. 2 weeks ago, I was in the B category. I have no new hard races/workouts or efforts, but somehow got upgraded to A last week disqualifying me for my ZRL Team. On my zwift account, my max levels for all time intervals are exactly the same. Unless there was a change in the calc, this makes no sense. Very frustrating.

In my data in the profile of my ZWIFT account, I had a zMAP of 338. In the data section, I had a 5 minute max of 5.34. After that performance went passed 90 days, it was replaced with a ride where I did only 5.24. Shouldn’t that change my zMAP? It is still 338.

What does the H mean?

I am all for category enforcement, but it is confusing when the category in fact does not seem to mean anything according to your example where you describe how it is possible for a C rider to race in a category D enforced race. In my world one is either one or the other, but as I understand it it is apparently possible to be both, in a way. I would like to trust that when I see someone’s category in the profile, it is within that category that person will be racing.

No, the standard categories haven’t changed.

I weigh 76.2kg
zFTP is 255 watts (3.4w/kg)
zMAP 299 watts

Zwift says I’m in cat C, is that correct?
Extra marks for showing your workings

Thanks 😎
