I spoke to soon. That fix only worked for one ride, and now it is back to being a problem.

Zwift support had me delete Documents/Zwift/KnownDevices.xml and Prefs.xml
That seemed to do the trick. Steering is back for me.

Mine isn’t working despite it showing up in the pairing menu.
It seems like others are having the same problem with posts on the Zwift Forum.

Actually, as you noted in your 1.75 article, that already had a route badge. There was no change to the number of badges with 1.76.

Alex, you hit the first couple there with Rowing and Smart trainer dev. If you go on the Zwift Forum you can see how ZH has promised and not delivered.
Here’s a few that come to mind:
CE took years to come to fruition and those of us in lower cats had to deal with sandbaggers fouling up races. Literally years.
ZRS race result based cats which is huge improvement to CE. See above.
The chat function in group rides and races. On and off.
Lack of update testing. In the past, an update would be called a Bugdate because of all the bugs. Looks like it’s gotten better in the past year.
Zwift has gotten more responsive in the last year to these issues and I recognize this but they promised some big changes soon and it still looks like it’s gonna happen Zooner or Later.
Make no mistake, I love Zwifting and evangelize hard about it to fellow IRL riders but the way some of this stuff is managed is disconcerting at times.

What are the big promises that never happened, outside of rowing and the smart trainer development?

Not that i’m super happy with the improvements to the platform over the last couple of years but generally speaking, Zwift at least doesn’t promise huge things that they can’t deliver on.
